Peer Review Process
Smart Systems (SS) follows a single-anonymized peer review process, in which reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, but not vice versa.
Upon submission, each manuscript is first assessed by the editorial team to determine its relevance, originality, and alignment with the journal’s scope. Submissions deemed suitable will be sent for independent review by at least two expert reviewers, who will evaluate the scientific quality, clarity, and contribution to the field.
Editorial decisions—acceptance, revision, or rejection—are based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the judgment of the handling editor. Authors will receive detailed feedback to support the improvement of their manuscript.
Editorial Ethics and Conflicts of Interest
To ensure fairness and transparency:
- Editors do not participate in the decision-making process for manuscripts in which they are authors, co-authors, or have any personal or professional conflict of interest (e.g., close collaborators, family members, or commercial affiliations).
- Such submissions are handled independently, with the peer review process overseen by another editor with no competing interests.
Smart Systems (SS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and impartiality throughout the review process.
